Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Galaxy of Glass

Show runs through Oct 23

FALLBROOK – Galaxy of Glass, one of Fallbrook Art Center’s longest running and most popular shows, continues to attract new artists eager to participate as well as collectors and art appreciators alike. Presented in the center’s main exhibition space, The Janice Griffiths Gallery, the show features original glass art created by over 30 West Coast glass artists who were selected to participate.

Ten new regional artists have joined the show this year. Using a myriad of processes including hot blown, cast, fused, slumped, carved, and assembled, the works run the gamut from large to intimate – variety abounds. The shop section of the show features jewelry, tumblers, wine glasses, cheese boards, mosaics, paperweights, garden art, vases, animal figures, and much more.

This show offers visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience fine art glass in a beautiful gallery setting affording them the ability to begin or expand their collection. As with all their presentations, center staff are very grateful for the sponsors who make these exhibitions possible. The show continues daily through Oct. 23, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

In addition to the Galaxy of Glass, visitors will enjoy Plein Air Landscape and Still Life Paintings by Southern California Plein Air artists Stan Goudey, Annie Dover, Kathryn Peterson, Sarah Sullivan, and Joyce Trinh. This show also continues through Oct 23.

Admission is free to all members, center patrons, active military, under 18, and students with ID; others admission is $6, or guests can take advantage of the new membership special – admission charge will be credited towards the membership fee. For as little as $35 a year, they can enjoy free admission to all shows at the Fallbrook Art Center.

The center is located in Fallbrook’s Historic Downtown District at 103 South Main at Alvarado. For other information on the show, supporting center programs, or volunteering, call 760-728-1414 or visit http://www.fallbrookartcenter.org.
