Teacher support grants awarded

FALLBROOK – The local California Retired Teachers Association Division 81 announced that it has awarded Teacher Support Grants of over $1,800 to 10 teachers from eight different local schools. Grade levels represented included kindergarten through high school. Each grant is limited to $200 and will be used to purchase classroom materials to enhance learning experiences.

These grants were provided by donations from members of the local CalRTA Division 81. In the spirit of "paying it forward," the retired teachers feel honored to support teachers who are dedicated to enriching children's education.

CalRTA Division 81 meets the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting will be held in person at the Woman's Club Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 9:45 a.m. and will include a performance by the Fallbrook High School Madrigal Singers as well as a luncheon. If you would like to attend, contact Mickie Flores, president of CalRTA Division 81, at [email protected]. All are welcome.

Additional teacher grants are available through the state CalRTA. More information can be found on the state website at https://calrta.org/.
