Hope Clinic for Women looks back at 2022

FALLBROOK – In 2022, Hope Clinic for Women said it was thankful to partner with other organizations in Fallbrook to support a shared demographic of 17–24 year-old men and women.

One favorite partnership was with the Fallbrook High School's community service program, which allowed HCW to provide over 750 hours of community service as students completed online surveys offering helpful insights.

Staff and volunteers from HCW also partnered with LifePointe Fallbrook Baptist Church, Do Gooders Thrift Shop and We Luv San Diego, which covered costs in 2022 and delivered over 100,000 diapers in sizes 0 to 6 and 120,000 pounds of non-perishable food to the Fallbrook community. The free diaper and food event is open to everyone without reservations the second Tuesday of each month from noon to 2 p.m. at 221 N. Pico Ave, in Fallbrook.

Clients, volunteers and staff enjoyed their annual "Momsgiving" in November, which allowed mothers in their programs and their children to have a meal provided by the staff and volunteers, to win raffles and to make a fun craft for their homes. After the coronavirus pandemic, these mothers and children said they enjoyed getting to know each other, and the event also allowed HCW staff to show appreciation for their clients' commitment and engaged learning.

Through funding from HCW's ongoing baby bottle coin drive, beginning in January the nonprofit will celebrate the lives of babies, both those born and unborn in the community, and host corporate events to help promote local businesses and to connect the community that supports HCW's outreach.

Annual HCW events in 2022 included the "Inspiring Hope" Gala in March at SonRise Christian Fellowship, Hope Walks in June at The Vineyard 1924 and Hats in the Garden Tea and Auction at the Fallbrook Community Center in November. All events provided updates on the impact of HCW services that were made possible by local in-kind gifts and individual, corporate, church and foundation donations.

Donations also allowed HCW to provide all patient and client services free to their patients and clients. To date in 2022, HCW shared over 3,295 free services and held over 762 individual educational classes through BrightCourse programs and the BrightBirth Academy. This support for young mothers, fathers and their babies is due to the commitment of HCW's trained volunteers who shared 2,400 hours of service.

HCW is a licensed free primary care clinic and pregnancy resource support nonprofit charitable organization with trained medical and administrative professionals who serve their patients in a newly remodeled building at 125 E. Hawthorne St. in Fallbrook. They offer free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy in the first trimester of pregnancy and pregnancy services and support through the second year after a child is born.
