Pastel artist to demonstrate for FAA

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Art Association welcomes pastel artist Lyndelle Stonick on Feb. 18. She will demonstrate her exquisite use of color and light in the media of pastel.

Stonick is a Fine Art honors graduate from CSUF. While studying for her Masters, Fidelity Arts of Beverly Hills purchased and sold an edition of her prints nationwide. She has been an exhibitor at the prestigious Laguna Beach Festival of Arts for seven years.

Her work has been shown internationally, in prominent galleries as well as in art institutes and museums, including Siena Art Institute in Italy and Laguna Beach Art Museum in California.

Stonick has been featured in art books, newspapers and publications such as Southwest Art, Art Collectors Magazine, and the pastel journal. She has written articles, including one for Daniel Smith, produced a pastel DVD and has appeared on KOCE.

She is also recognized for her teaching ability and has taught art classes for Saddleback College. She will teach a workshop after the general meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. Non-members are invited to come, observe the demo, and/or join the workshop in the afternoon.

The general meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. with the artist’s critique of members’ paintings and the afternoon workshop starts at 1 p.m. the same day. The public is welcome. Participants are asked to register for the workshop in advance but sign-ups are also accepted that day. The cost to members is $40, $50 for non-members. Fallbrook Art Association’s Gallery is located at 300 N. Brandon Road. General meetings are held at the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, 238 W. Mission Road, the third Saturday of each month. FAA has a new art show every month at The Gallery with added theme shows along with their general art shows which are open to all members and guest artists.
