BGC Service Project celebrates Boys & Girls Clubs Week

FALLBROOK – Boys & Girls Clubs Week is coming and, to start it all off, Boys & Girls Clubs of North County sponsored a Sweep Sidewalks Service Project. A group of club members swept Main Avenue, Thursday, March 9, picked up trash, and visited businesses to thank them for their support with gifts of candy.

"Part of the club mission is for club members to learn how to be a good citizen and giving back to the community is an important part of good citizenship," said CEO Allison Barclay. "We are grateful the Fallbrook community supports Boys & Girls Clubs of North County and we wanted to say thank you."

BGC Week launches Monday, March 20 with an Open House at the main club house located at 445 E Ivy Street starting at 4:30 p.m. A free event open to the public, this is the first time the club has had an open house since COVID started over three years ago.

During the rest of the week, the club will be hosting a STEM Fair, a talent showcase, a cooking challenge and finally a dodgeball tournament with the participation of the North County Fire Protection District.

BGC Week is an annual celebration club members and their families participate in highlighting the many facets of the Boys & Girls Clubs experience.

Boys & Girls Clubs of North County has a 60-year history of serving the youth of Fallbrook and has many exciting programs planned for the second half of the school year, as well as into the summer.
