FAA offers pastel demo May 20, Art Walk June 2

FALLBROOK – On May 20, Fallbrook Artists Association (FAA) welcomes Lisa Martin to its monthly general meeting. Martin is an artist living in Long Beach, California. She enjoys painting with oil, gouache, soft pastels, or watercolors. Her work is best described as post-impressionist or abstract/contemporary.

Martin is a member of the Laguna Plein-Air Painters Association, the FAA, the Desert Art Center of Palm Springs, The California Art Club, and the California Art League. She will give a demonstration of pastel techniques at the FAA general meeting at the Fallbrook Women Club, 238 W. Mission Road, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., starting with a member's art critique.

The general meeting is always free to the public. At 1 p.m., Martin will teach a workshop on pastel techniques. Attendees are asked to register for the workshop in advance, however, sign-ups are also accepted that day. The cost to members is $40, $50 for non-members. Call Carol Reardon to register and receive a materials list, 760-221-5577. The FAA workshops are well attended and provide a comfortable setting for exploring and learning new art skills.

FAA's The Gallery is located at 300 N. Brandon Road. FAA has a new art show every month at The Gallery which are open to all members and guest artists. May is the annual spring show with money prizes for winning entries. Entry forms can be found at http://www.fallbrookartassoc.org. FAA is sponsoring the Fallbrook Art Walk in Downtown on Friday, June 2, 3-7 p.m. Visitors will be able to watch art being created by 10+ artists, take part in several drawings to win prizes, listen to live music and shop at the downtown businesses open that evening until 9 p.m.
