FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce announced longtime Fallbrook resident and agricultural expert Charley Wolk as this year’s grand marshal.
Wolk has been a Fallbrook Chamber member for nearly 25 years and is the founder and owner of Bejoca Grove and Landscape Management Company. He has selflessly devoted many years and long hours of his time and talent for the Fallbrook community, the state of California and worldwide.
Wolk has lived in Fallbrook for well over 40 years and has served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors since the 1990s and served as president in 1993. He has also made a valuable impact serving on the executive committee for the past several years and with agricultural special projects. In 1993, Wolk was honored as Citizen of the Year.
The honoree lives by the mantra, “You have to give back to your community.” It is evident in everything that he has done and continues to do.
Other notables in Wolk’s career included service on the board of directors for the California Avocado Commission; service on the board of directors for the Hass Avocado Board; 20 years of service as Chairman of the California Avocado Commission’s Nutrition Advisory Committee; service for the California Fuyu Growers Association; at large director of the North County Joint Powers Authority; service on the San Diego Irrigated Lands Board of Directors; service on the San Diego County Farm Bureau Board of Directors; director for the Fallbrook Public Utility District; chairman of the Avocado Commission Water Committee and 2023 Board Member of the Year by the California Special Districts Association.
“Wolk is a man of integrity, conviction and somewhat of a gentle giant,” according to the Fallbrook Chamber. “He and his lovely wife, Pamela, are true Fallbrookians and love spending time with their large family. He is a pleasure to know and work with and the Chamber said it is proud to have him as this year’s grand marshal.”
