Second meeting for Daughters of Norway planned

The next step in establishing a new Daughters of Norway Lodge is a meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 21, at 11 a.m. at Rainbow Valley Grange Hall, 2160 Rainbow Valley Boulevard.

Nineteen women and children attended the first meeting on January 21. They came from as far away as Mission Viejo and Banning as well as Temecula, Fallbrook and Escondido.

Grand Lodge Organizational Co-Chair Jill Beatty, who came from San Francisco to address the meeting, said that the group was big enough to start the process of forming a new lodge.

More women of Scandinavian descent or who are related to someone who is Scandinavian (Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Danish or Icelandic) are welcome to come to the next meeting, during which plans for future meetings will be made.

Although children under 13 are not eligible to join, they may come with their mothers if they are interested.
