Junior Grange wins Sweepstakes Award

FALLBROOK — The members of Rainbow Valley Junior Grange recently installed their officers for 2009 after starting the year with the news that they won the Junior Grange Sweepstakes Award at the 2008 California State Grange Expo for the third time and the second year in a row. Rainbow Valley Grange won the Subordinate Grange Sweepstakes Award at the Expo; however, it was the very first sweepstakes win for the senior Grange members.

The awards go to the Grange and Junior Grange with the most entries placing first, second or third in the expo, which includes contests in photography, arts, crafts, sewing, baking, agriculture and computer arts. The expo is held annually at the state Grange convention, which will be held in Fresno this October.

The Juniors and Youth will be helping out at the Grange’s annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Sunday, March 15, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Grange hall, 2160 Rainbow Valley Blvd. For more information, call (760) 489-9502.
