High-tech skills translate to success in real estate

Deborah Danko of Willis Allen Real Estate is a professional Realtor and a true advocate for her clients. In the last seven years, Danko has earned a reputation built on trust, respect and reliability.

Prior to entering the real estate industry, Danko invested nearly 20 years in computer software development in her role as a director of sales.

Her background in the high-tech field includes project management, planning, budgeting, marketing and client relationships. These skills have proven valuable in the real estate business.

Danko’s experience in communications, time management and systems are noteworthy. “Having good systems in place in my business frees up my time to make sure my clients experience a world-class level of service,” she said.

As a Realtor, Danko shines in negotiations. Like project management, she explained, a real estate transaction is all about managing details, troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Each transaction has a plan, she explained, whether it is with a buyer or a seller, and Danko’s structure makes business run like clockwork.

“In real estate there are so many i’s to dot and t’s to cross,” she said. Her attention to detail is impressive; the hours she commits to her work ensures the job is done right.

“I am a full-time Realtor,” she said. “The 70 hours a week I put into my previous career didn’t go away when I started real estate.”

Danko primarily deals with residential properties and typically stays in the greater Fallbrook and Bonsall locale.

In the current real estate market, Danko pushes on with a positive “can do” attitude.

Home prices are down, she said, and with it come tremendous bargains. And if this weren’t tempting enough, the interest rates are lingering around five percent.

Not only are there bank-owned properties on the market, but there are some fantastic buys that are privately owned and turn-key ready.

“On the seller side, although buyer activity is down, things are still moving for those properties that are competitively priced,” Danko said. “Fallbrook is just a place where people want to come to and there is something for everybody in this area.”

Danko says joining the Willis Allen team was an ideal choice because of their integrity and success dating back to 1914.

“The marketing opportunities that are available for our sellers is unsurpassed in the marketplace,” she said. “Kristine Creed, our branch manager, is a marketing guru.”

Danko’s professionalism in the real estate industry makes her a valued member of the Willis Allen team.

“Our clients hire us for our expertise in negotiating on their behalf, transaction and contract management, and for sellers, developing and implementing a creative and effective marketing plan for getting their home sold,” Danko said.

For Danko, transactions mean far more than just a listing and hammering a “for sale” sign into the front lawn. An effective agent listens to her clientele, recognizes their mission and is there from beginning to end.

Danko says that her favorite part of the job is turning over the keys to a first-time buyer or someone who chooses Fallbrook as their retirement home.

Helping clients move from one residence into another that better suits their current lifestyle is also a joy for her.
