Mulkey, Doss win events at Big Dual

Amanda Mulkey and April Doss were among the winners of girls track and field events at the Big Dual Invitational meet March 6 at Vista High School.

Mulkey, a junior, won the 800-meter run and Doss placed first in the discus throw. “It was a great way to start our season,” said Fallbrook coach Troy Hamlin.

Mulkey’s time of 2:25.01 led the 17 runners in the girls 800-meter race. She completed her first 400-meter lap in 1:11.2. “Solid beginning of the season performance for her,” Hamlin said. “She just poured it on in the last 200.”
