Actor George Hamilton to appear at Fallbrook Film Festival

FALLBROOK – George Hamilton will be one of the special guests at the Third Annual Fallbrook Film Festival from April 9 to 11, 2010, at the Ultra-Star Cinemas in Bonsall River Village, located at the corner of Mission Road and State Route 76.

From full length features to short films, the Fallbrook Film Festival will be reeling with talent. Forty films were chosen from a field of 120 submissions from around the globe.

Actor George Hamilton will, no doubt, light up the stage when he is presented with the Career Achievement award for his long and colorful film career which spans over five decades.

Hamilton will also discuss the film, “My One and Only,” starring Renée Zellweger and Kevin Bacon, which is based on his mother’s life at a time when Hamilton was young. The film will be screened at the festival on Sunday evening from 4 to 6 p.m.

Festival workshops will be led by seasoned professionals such as director Frank Capra III. Capra has many films to his credit including “The Bucket List” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.” He will also present an award dubbed the “Capra” which will be given to the most uplifting film. The award is in honor of Capra’s grandfather, acclaimed director Frank Capra, who was a resident of Fallbrook, and whose moving film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” still touches hearts after 64 years.

Producer Michael Schroeder’s film “Man in the Chair,” starring Christopher Plummer, will be screened at the festival and Schroeder will also lead a festival workshop.
