Hit and run suspect breaks down one mile down the road

FALLBROOK - According to both the California Highway Patrol and morning commuters, a driver that committed a hit and run in the 2500 block of East Mission Road at approximately 8:45 a.m. today appears to have broken down one mile westbound on the same highway.

An individual driving a green Ford Explorer is said to have struck the back end of a 400 series Lexus at approximately 8:45 a.m. this morning near the intersection of Riverview Drive and failed to stop afterward.

The driver of the Lexus drove slowly to stop on the side of the roadway, while the Explorer drove out of sight.
