A local kitty cat made its way onto the roof of its home, and seemingly was stuck.

Homeowners called the North County Fire Protection District to come and rescue the cat, Thursday, May 12.

According to spokesperson John Choi, as soon as the cat saw the ladder and firefighter coming up to rescue it, the cat ran away and came down from the roof.

Both firefighter and feline made it safely to the ground.

Choi explained that North County Fire will go out on public service calls, but if a medical emergency call comes through while on a call to remove a cat from a tree or roof, they will attend to the emergency right away.

He told of a time when NCFPD went to a home with a water issue in the house. They turned off the water and helped mop up. He explained that they don’t do the actual repairs; homeowners need to call appropriate repair people for that.
