  • A wonderfully generous Good Samaritan

    Updated Jun 30, 2011

I had back surgery a week ago and this was my first day out. By the time I had walked through the grocery store, I was worn out and looking forward to getting home and resting. Going through the check-out line, I was digging through my purse and realized I had not brought my wallet or checkbook. I told the girl I was sorry but I had no money and would have to put everything back when I heard this wonderful man say, “I’ll pay for it.” When I turned, I fully expected to see an angel standing there! And to me he was. He refus...

    Updated Jun 30, 2011

Do you realize that during heavy traffic hours you’ve just cut access in half? Now the backup on Main Street will be even worse than it is already. Northbound vehicles on Main Street trying to turn left onto Ammunition will be backed up also! Did anyone do a study on this, or was it because Caltrans had some extra white paint that had a July 1 expiration date? I’d be interested to know the story beh...

  • A great Father's Day

    Updated Jun 30, 2011

I had the best Father Day! I awoke at 6 a.m. with my 10-year-old son holding a cup of coffee. I wanted to sleep in, but the smile on his face would have made me sit through a Barney show. I got up and headed for the living room where I was showered with gifts. We than had to clean the house since I took my son and wife to the Carrillo monument and Mt. Soledad the day before. When it was time for dinner, my wife said we are going for a bike ride. With no idea what the destination was, I gladly agreed. We rode to Major Market...
