  • Pets of the Week: 'Chaz' and 'Boomer'

    Updated Mar 31, 2006

FALLBROOK — Our first Pet of the Week is “Chaz,” a 13-year-old applehead Chihuahua weighing 6 lbs. Chaz is a wonderful senior dog looking for a nice, quiet lap to sit on. Neglected and abused at a puppy mill, where he never felt the sun shine outside of his cage, it took us an hour to get him to come to us, at first. He now greets us with a bark and a wiggle, ears straight up. You’d never know he’s a senior, as he can hold his own with the other dogs. He’s patient and tolerant with young children, but we’d like to see him “re...

  • Pets of the Week: 'Katrina' and 'Cosmo'

    Updated Mar 9, 2006

Katrina is a rescued cat from the Hurricane Katrina disaster. She is very gentle and soft to touch. She was scooped up by gentle hands in the midst of Hurricane Katrina flooding, survived a plane ride with many other refugees and landed in Fallbrook. She has been waiting patiently for her “forever” home. Her poor little face was scraped by the metal cages used to transport her here, but she is healthy and vaccinated. Cosmo, our kitty with only one good eye, tragically lost his human family due to the death of the husband and...
