The past three weeks of school have been filled with many exciting events. To kick off the school year, there was a welcome back assembly, which included educational skits and performances by cheerleading and football.
The first home football game has come and gone and the ASB made sure that there was a superb turnout of spirited fans. The high school also had their annual Back to School Night, which enabled the parents to meet with teachers and get familiar with the school campus.
Club Rush Day took place on Monday, September 22. This event allowed the students to get familiar with the clubs on campus and to sign up for the various clubs they are interested in. There are many different clubs on campus, so there should be something for everyone. If you missed this Rush Day, listen to the bulletin or go to the Fallbrook High Web site to get more information about the various clubs offered.
For the past few weeks, Fallbrook High youth have had the opportunity to take part in the Returning to our Roots project. This project is in full force as students from all grade levels are doing community service at Live Oak Park. Each grade level is assigned an area and the class officers are working hard to make the needed improvements to our community park. The project is to be completed by the Homecoming football game on October 10. Students can find out how they can help by listening to the daily bulletin or going to the school Web site.
This last Saturday, the ASB held their first dance of the year, Morp (which is “Prom” spelled backwards). This was a casual dress-up dance which had a huge turnout and was very successful.
One of the highlights of the dance was the announcement of this year’s Homecoming court. The princesses are Sarah Garcia, Gabriella Dominguez, Destiny Peralez and Julia Fitzmaurice. The princes are Jacob Robinson, Derek Fletes, Stuart Reeder and Seth Comer.
The selection of the king and queen will be voted upon by the senior class. The queen will be announced at the Homecoming football game and the king at the dance the next evening.
For the results of the community service project and a great football game, join in the evening on October 10 at Warrior Stadium. On Saturday, October 11, the Homecoming dance will take place at FHS in the Barn from 8 to 11 p.m.
Finally, come out tomorrow, Friday, September 26, to Warrior Stadium to watch the Fallbrook Warriors take on El Camino at 5 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for varsity.
