Mission era tour offered

OCEANSIDE — Attention, parents of fourth grade students: Back by popular demand on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to noon is the behind-the-scenes tour led by docent Mary Roper at Mission San Luis Rey.

Aimed at providing young students with a better understanding of what life was like during the mission era, the tour is open to people of all ages who want to learn more about the mission’s significance in California history.

Organizers say this is a great way for parents and children to share in the learning experience and for children to glean ideas for history projects. Fourth-graders will receive an educational packet valued at $5.

The mission is located at 4050 Mission Avenue in Oceanside.

Reservations are required since space is limited. For cost and to reserve a spot, call (760) 757-3651, ext. 115.
