Writers Read featuring author Jincy Willett

FALLBROOK — Author Jincy Willett will be the featured writer at Fallbrook’s Writers Read free monthly reading on Wednesday, January 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Café des Artistes.

Willett is author of the hilarious and achingly poignant novels “The Writing Class” and “Winner of the National Book Award” and a short story collection, “Jenny and the Jaws of Life.”

Willett, based in Escondido, will be reading from “The Writing Class.” Willett’s books will be available for purchase and signing.

The featured reading will be following by an open mic session for anyone eager to share his or her original short fiction, creative nonfiction or poetry. Café des Artistes will open for the reading at 5 p.m., with a special supper menu available.

The fourth through eighth grade open mic is from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by Willett’s reading and then the adult and high school open mic.

Entrance to the café is through the rear parking lot behind the Art Center on Main Avenue.
