Open house at Fallbrook Library Jan. 30

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook Library will host a “New Beginning” open house on Friday, January 30, from 2 to 4 p.m.

San Diego County Library Director José Aponte will be on hand to discuss the library’s services and visit with the public.

The event also coincides with the San Diego County Library’s Fine-Free Friday program, in which all overdue fines are waived on items returned that day in every County Library branch.

Entertainment for the family is planned, including Latin jazz by Le Jazz Hot and a magic show by The Amazing Dana.

Le Jazz Hot is made up of a number of longtime performing San Diego musicians, led by guitarist/singer Mike Stewart, with strong vocals by Jeannie Reith and Jean Stewart.

The Amazing Dana (Dana Law) incorporates humor, fast-paced illusions and audience participation in his ever-popular show.

The afternoon will also include balloon sculptures by Tony Bradley, whose dazzling balloon creations and running humorous commentary are known throughout San Diego.

Rounding out the program will be face painting by Sparkles, San Diego’s best-known clown. Craft tables and Wii stations will also be available.

Fallbrook Library invites the public to join in celebrating a new year and in looking ahead to a new library in town.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
