Liberty Quarry gains endorsements

TEMECULA — Granite Construction recently received the endorsement and support of the Riverside and San Bernardino Building & Construction Trades Council, an organization dedicated to improving the health, safety and economic conditions of the members of its affiliates and of all working men and women in the construction industry.

The endorsement came after a presentation by Granite representatives regarding the positive benefits of the Liberty Quarry project and resulting economic impact.

Highly skilled construction jobs, apprenticeship training opportunities and minority and veteran employment opportunities were central points considered during the presentation.

Project opponents were given equal consideration but ultimately the Council expressed confidence in Granite’s commitment to environmental concerns.

The Riverside and San Bernardino Counties Building & Construction Trades Council represents more than 12,000 members, ranging throughout the construction industry and including 28 construction crafts represented by more than 30 local unions.
