Fallbrook Pop Warner helps fire victims

FALLBROOK — Fallbrook’s Pop Warner family mobilized into action when several families lost the contents of their homes August 24 in an apartment complex fire on Old Stage Road.

Pop Warner families collected donations of gift cards, clothing, toys and other goods to assist the recent fire victims.

“Tri City Church in Vista had just completed a clothing swap and had lots of nice things still available and graciously offered them to Pop Warner to present to the fire victims,” said Lori Schneider.

Fallbrook United Methodist Church offered to host the clothing event and a Pop Warner parent shuttled the fire victims back and forth between the Red Cross Shelter where they were being housed and the clothing distribution site.

“Pop Warner is pleased to support those families in need and to give back to a community that has so generously supported our youth,” said Fallbrook Pop Warner President Allan Brassard. “It is amazing to witness the generosity of our membership to fellow members in times of crisis such as this.”

No stranger to helping fire victims, Fallbrook Pop Warner’s Warrior Nation football team donated a significant amount of team funds to support victims of the 2007 Rice Fire.
