House party set for 'Step Up' campaign

The Boys & Girls Club of North County will officially kick off their “Step Up to the Plate/It Just Takes One” campaign with a “Lead-Off Hitters House Party” on Friday, October 23, at the home of Wayne and Marty Warner in Fallbrook.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $135,000 to support the five core program areas the club offers its members. Once again, the campaign will feature a “Circle of Friends” event. Any individual or company that contributes $2,500 or more to the campaign will be invited to a special reception in January.

The campaign features five mock baseball teams made up of one team captain and team players who will compete against each other to see which team can raise the most funds for the organization.

All members from each team will be inviting guests to attend the house party, which is free and guests will be treated to fabulous food and refreshments.

Guests will have an opportunity to hear about the positive impact the club has on its members and then have a chance to make a tax-deductible contribution to the organization.

Ken Clark, “Step Up to the Plate/It Just Takes One” commissioner, stated, “All proceeds from this campaign stay right here in our community to help support activities for our kids in Fallbrook, Pala and Bonsall.”

“We realize the current economy is a challenge for everyone, but now more than ever, our kids need our help,” he added. “By supporting our campaign it is an excellent opportunity for our community to ‘Step Up to the Plate’ and to demonstrate their commitment for our children.”

Anyone interested in attending the house party on October 23 may call the House Party Hotline at (760) 728-5871. Space is limited to 150 people.
