Gonzaleses celebrate 60th anniversary

Fallbrook residents Leo and Alice Gonzales celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 1.

To celebrate, they were joined at the Temecula Creek Inn by more than 100 family and friends from as far away as Washington, Utah, Texas and South Carolina.

Guests included “best man” Roger Jones, who stood at their wedding 60 years ago, and Alice’s best friend, Margie Ranier, who introduced them in high school!

Leo and Alice renewed their wedding vows and exchanged rings with daughter Teresa Jackson and son Paul at their sides.

Reverend Mark Demel, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, performed a beautiful ceremony sharing Leo and Alice’s faith in Jesus Christ with all in attendance.

As a surprise, a mariachi band with the singing talents of Lizette Martinez provided entertainment as they performed many of the couple’s favorite songs.

Photography and a beautiful video montage of their years together was arranged by their granddaughter, Allie Kemp.

Plans for their 75th anniversary are already in the works!
