Man to be sentenced for 2008 stabbing

VISTA – The defense is expected to present its case this morning, then closing arguments are scheduled in the murder trial of a man accused of killing his estranged wife's lover in Fallbrook nearly two years ago. Hector Martin Perez allegedly stabbed 26-year-old Erik Ivan Aguilar to death in April 2008.

Authorities say Perez and his wife had been separated for more than a year at the time of the stabbing.
