Joyce G. Gilson, 82, passed away February 12, 2010 at Tri-City Medical Center, Oceanside, Calif. She was born September 27, 1927 in Los Angeles, Calif.

Joyce earned an AA degree at Cottey College, Nevada, Mo., and a BS at Whittier College, Whittier, Calif. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who both enjoyed reading and instilled the love of reading in her children. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for the Fallbrook Hospital Auxiliary and its gift shop, San Diego Blood Bank, Fallbrook Child Development Center and Laubach Literacy Action.
