Ragland paintings juried into national contest

FALLBROOK – Local artist Jack Ragland has had two of his paintings, “Groovin” and “Mission Tower Midway,” juried into the Paint America contest, one of the largest and most prestigious national art competitions in the USA, by a panel of nationally recognized artists.

Paint America, based in Topeka, Kan., is dedicated to promoting art that depicts the American Experience.

From several thousand entries, Ragland’s works were selected for both available categories. “Groovin’,” 16” x 20” oil, was one of 200 chosen in the 180 to 720 square- inch size. “Mission Tower Midway,” 11” x 14” oil, was picked for one of 100 works in the Mini-up-to-180 square-inch size.

Ragland is donating a signed and numbered print of each of these now celebrated works to the Boys and Girls Club to be auctioned off at their fundraiser on April 24.
