Harold Siva, Sr., 79, passed away on February 27, 2010 in Pala of cancer.
Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years JoAnn Siva of Fallbrook; children Harold Siva Jr. of Rincon, Annemarie Siva of Rincon, Natalia Siva of Rincon, Gerald (Sallie) Siva of Rincon, Greg (Sherry) Siva of Pala and Joe (Jeanine) Siva of Rincon; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His family was the joy of his life.
Harold was born on May 5, 1930 in Pala, where he grew up. He attended school at the Sherman Indian School in Riverside. Harold served in the Army and fought in the Korean War. After his discharge, he was employed at the Naval Weapons Station in Fallbrook as an Ordnance Worker Leader until his retirement after 30 years of service. He then drove for Meals on Wheels for 10 years delivering meals to several Indian Reservations.
Harold coached the major league Tigers for several years and played softball for various area teams. Baseball and softball remained one of his major interests throughout his lifetime.
Harold’s sense of humor and love of life made him a favorite among his many friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Chapel on the Rincon Indian Reservation on Mazzetti Lane.
