FALLBROOK – Chock-full of recipes by members of the club, the Fallbrook Woman’s Club new cookbooks will be hot off the press in time for the Fallbrook Avocado Festival, Sunday, April 18.
At their March meeting, club members participated in the Great Avocado Cheesecake Caper, preparing original and innovative avocado cheesecakes in two categories – sweet and savory. All recipes are included in the new cookbooks. Judged by Jacquie Pierson of Rio Rico restaurant, the winning entry “Avocalada” was the brainchild of Annette AuBuchon, president of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club.
The cookbook includes at least five recipes from each member and the inside scoop on recipes from the club’s legendary teas, luncheons, baked good sales and potlucks. Club artists have designed and painted the cover and insert pages. The book also features club history, poetry and helpful hints.
