SAN DIEGO - Two men barged into a Mira Mesa home early today and abducted a young man, claiming he owed them money and eventually releasing him north of Escondido about three hours later, police said.
Four people were asleep in the home in the 10600 block of Caminito Derecho about midnight when the intruders came in, San Diego police said.
One man was armed with a tire iron, and the other had a pistol, police said.
They took a young man, named Keith, and roughed him up before dropping him off near Gopher Canyon Road and Interstate 15, police said.
The young man apparently met the suspects three days ago and owed them about $1,000, according to police. The victim was taken to be Palomar Medical Center to be checked out.
No one else in the home was hurt. Police said the victim was staying with friends.
