Rain should be short-lived, wind will continue

SAN DIEGO - A storm packing more wind than rain will brush San Diego County today, and while the rain which fell on the Fallbrook/Bonsall area should be short-lived, strong winds behind the front will stick around for a couple of days.

The National Weather Service said wind gusts up to 25 mph would sweep through coastal and valley areas this afternoon. A wind advisory was scheduled for those areas from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sustained west winds of 20-30 mph are forecast for the mountains, along with gusts up to about 45 mph this afternoon, according to the NWS. Slightly stronger gusts were predicte...
