Water bottle education at Rotary

FALLBROOK – On Tuesday, May 11, Fallbrook Village Rotary Club was delighted to host Lance Garrette, chief operating officer of Orb Element International LLC.

Garrette spoke to the club members about the product his company is developing to replace plastic water bottles with a source of clean drinking water. He explained that plastic water bottles do deliver clean drinking water, but the down side of plastic bottles is that they clog up the land fills, and are irresponsibly discarded in many cases. Garrette said one Orb water bottle can replace over 1,000 plastic water bottles.

Carl Palmer, a former Green Bay Packer football player, came up with a solution for delivering clean drinking water by using a patented Ionic Absorption Micro Filtration System, which has been field-tested around the globe. It is designed to deliver clean, great tasting safe water regardless of the water source - river, lake, stream, or out of the tap. It filters out Cryptosporidium, Giardia, E-Coli, toxic chemicals and dissolved solids. The bottles are made of low-density polyethylene which is recyclable and will not leach.

Garrett showed a number of different sizes of his product from “filter straws” to larger units which can be placed in central location for people to fill their own water containers. The bottles and filters are in use in Haiti, and Chili. They are also being tested by the US military for use during training or battle.
