Sheriffs deliver apple pies for Thanksgiving

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook and Ramona Sheriff Stations participated in the fourth annual Operation Thanksgiving Pie. Snowline Orchard Apple Farm in Oak Glen, California, again provided their delicious five pound apple pies for this #SeasonofGiving event.

There were a total of 23 pies provided. The Fallbrook and Ramona stations personally delivered the pies to participants of their You Are Not Alone Program (YANA). The pies were delivered by Patrol, Investigations, Crime Prevention Specialist, Senior Volunteer Patrol, Deputy Explorer, and Lt. Claudia Delgado.

Participants from Bonsall all the way to De Luz were greeted with a pie by the Sheriff’s staff, who stayed and visited with them as well as wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving.

Operation Thanksgiving Pie was started back in 2020 to boost morale for those who were having a hard time during COVID and the holidays. Snowline Orchard owners Mike and Sonja Hudson have been instrumental in making this event such a success. To date, they have provided over 100 apple pies.

Crime Prevention Specialist Heather Mitchell said, “We had such a great response from our YANA friends, everything from their appreciation for the pies and our Sheriff staff, to letting us know, no one has ever done anything like this for them. By the looks on their faces this definitely added joy to their Thanksgiving holiday.”

Submitted by the Fallbrook Sheriff Station.
