  • More gun laws make more criminals

    Updated Jan 24, 2013

The more guns laws this government makes, the more doors they open for crime on the good people in America, because now they have no guns to protect themselves. When the criminals know the good people have no guns, their first thought is to attack every home in America to rape, steal, and kill, to get whatever they can get without working for it. Criminals are a lazy group of good-for-nothings. More gun laws always make more criminals, every time. John Cardona...

  • Premium prices for marginal goods, services

    Updated Jan 24, 2013

Since moving to Fallbrook, we’ve been determined to shop locally whenever possible. We understand that we may pay a premium for comparable products found in “big box” stores, and are happy to do so. Increasingly we find this goal more and more frustrating. Community pharmacies with national affiliations seem to keep a minimal inventory of medications here, such that when we renew prescriptions, they often have to order in our medications, none of which are exotic or out of the ordinary. Stores like Costco, Target, etc. do no...

  • Rainbow Water to the rescue

    Updated Jan 24, 2013

One Tuesday morning recently, our family woke up with no water from any taps. The backflow device had frozen. After wrapping the pipe with towels and pouring hot water on them, we had water in about 20 minutes. We always store several gallons of water in case of an emergency. The problem was that the backflow unit had been damaged and was leaking badly. A call to Rainbow Water, describing the problem, had a tech at our home in less than an hour and repairs were completed before noon. I wish to thank the Rainbow Municipal...

    Updated Jan 24, 2013

It’s been more than a week since Fallbrook Street got new directional arrow layouts in the center lane. They are supposed to be purposeful. Well, judge for yourself, they make no rhyme or reason - except for a few. Whoever was in charge of supervising the placement of these arrows leaves a big question mark. Were the instructions legible? I want perfection. Helene Beck...

SAN DIEGO COUNTY - When today’s parents reflect on their childhood, many likely recall seemingly endless days spent playing outdoors. But when today’s kids become tomorrow’s parents, chances are their recollections won’t recall nearly as much time spent idling the days away under the sun. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, roughly 17 percent of American children and adolescents between the ages of 2 to 19 are obese. The rise in overweight or obese c...

All five of Fallbrook’s matmen lost their...
