Hartcorn Construction known for professionalism

The greater Fallbrook area is home to building contractor Bruce Hartcorn of Hartcorn Construction, who is known for his professionalism, talent and conscientiousness.

When in need of a builder for a new custom home, quality remodel or room addition, Hartcorn has been a top choice by homeowners here for more than two decades.

Licensed as a general building contractor 23 years ago, Hartcorn’s experience in the industry dates back further than that.

“Some of my first jobs, while I was in high school and college, were in construction,” said Hartcorn. “I fell into it and decided that I liked the fact that I could work outside with my hands and use my mind at the same time.”

Hartcorn specializes in residential construction and said nearly 75 percent of his business is remodels and room additions, while 25 percent is new construction.

Because of his top-notch reputation, the majority of new business that comes his way is referral-based.

Currently, Hartcorn is working on an exciting and challenging residential project in Fallbrook. According to homeowners John and Mary Leigh Schensnol, their home was built in 1934 and was the 17th oldest residence in Fallbrook.

The remodel project began with a complete reconfiguration of the entire interior, including new doors and windows.

“But then what happened was that the more we took apart we saw that there was dry rot or it was termite-ridden,” explained Hartcorn. “We ended up putting a whole new foundation in here while keeping most of the old skeleton up.”

The interior of this historical Fallbrook home is now pristine and the bathrooms and kitchen have been upgraded to 21st century living.

“Bruce is just marvelous,” said the couple. “We have built three houses and remodeled another one, and we have never in our lives come across anyone who totally had our best interest at heart.”

The impressive quality that Hartcorn Construction puts out year after year on their jobs can be contributed in part to this contractor’s fine support help. “You are only as good as your help,” said Hartcorn.

By understanding the value of long-term relationships with his employees and subcontractors, Hartcorn has been able to achieve good success with his projects.

“I use the same guys all the time,” he said. “They know what I want and they know what I expect from them.”

This year, Hartcorn anticipates that homeowners will lean toward upgrading flooring, cabinetry, countertops and appliances.

“And you really can’t go wrong upgrading kitchens and bathrooms because it will just add value to the home,” he noted.

Room additions are another wise investment, as increasing the size of a home typically adds value. The owners of some single-story homes find it advantageous to add a second to provide the extra space they need.

Whatever the vision, Hartcorn Construction has the breadth of experience to turn it into reality.

Hartcorn Construction clients appreciate the quality work done on their projects and are pleased that they are done in a timely manner and within a reasonable budget.

“Keeping our clients happy means everything, said Hartcorn.
