Quarries destroy communities

I have serious concerns about the proposed Liberty Quarry coming to my back yard. I am the owner of a home on Stagecoach in Fallbrook. I bought in Fallbrook because it was a peaceful, quiet little village where I could raise my son with room for my dogs to run in a healthy country environment.

I have been told that this Liberty Quarry would be one of the largest blasting quarries in the United States. Quarries destroy communities, degrade the environment and pollute the air. Granite will be using explosives which are equivalent to earthquakes which damage driveways, foundations, and walls, breaking windows and causing sinkholes.

The noise will be nerve wracking. The explosives create benzene and ammonium nitrate which poison the air and our drinking water. The ash produced pollutes the air we breathe.

This Liberty Quarry will surely cause our lives distress and our health to deteriorate as well as lowering our property values. Fallbrook will no longer be the peaceful place I bought into and call home.

This is totally unacceptable to me. I am apposed to the Liberty Quarry.
