Girl's Rugby Club receives $1000 grant

FALLBROOK – The US Women’s Rugby Foundation is pleased to announce its 2009 Girls Rugby Grantee. A grant in the amount of $1000 will be distributed to Fallbrook High School Girls Rugby Club. The grant funds will be used to purchase scrum caps and protective vests for the team.

Fallbrook High School Rugby Club was founded in 2007, and currently has 60 girls enrolled in three teams (U14, U16, and U19) making it the largest girls program in Southern California. The U14 and U16 teams both won their Southern California girls divisions.

With an ambition to inspire girls to participate in rugby, the Fallbrook players have traveled as a group to give an introductory course in rugby to a high school near them. They have developed players that have played for the U19 and U23 So Cal Griffin Girls team.

The US Women’s Rugby Foundation is very proud to award Fallbrook these funds and acknowledge its donors for their support of the organization. To learn more about the Foundation, go to http://www.uswrf.org.
