North County Fire seeks administrative volunteers

FALLBROOK – North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) has an exciting opportunity for citizens from within our communities. NCFPD proudly provides fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services to the citizens of Fallbrook, Bonsall and Rainbow. Recently, the position of Fire Corps Administrative Volunteer was established and NCFPD is now seeking applicants to fill positions.

The position does not have age restrictions, although volunteers must be able to fill four hour shifts, either one in the morning or another in the afternoon, four times during the course of a month.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent; complete the application and interview process; and successfully complete a series of screenings.

Those accepted will attend a mandatory orientation academy which will focus on NCFPD policies, procedures and terminology.

The administrative volunteers will assist with customer service by answering phones, working the front counter, and providing assistance to the fire prevention bureau.

Fire Chief Bill Metcalf has said many individuals from within the community have expressed a desire to give back. “We know there are many citizens from within our community who have unique skills and abilities and are ready, willing and able to provide this assistance.”
