Senior citizens to meet Aug. 10

FALLBROOK – The next monthly general meeting of the Senior Citizens Club, which is open to all members will be held Tuesday, August 10 at 10 a.m. Coffee and refreshments will be available during the meeting. Door prizes are given out at the end of the meeting. The center is located at 399 Heald Lane.

The guest speaker will be Pamela Trunell, the Transit Buddy Coordinator for the North County Transit District (NCTD). She is responsible for recruiting those seniors who want to learn to use the transit system or who would like to teach others how to use the system. NCTD has the perfect program for seniors who want to get out and around the county without having to depend on others. This talk will teach seniors how to travel safely within the North County when utilizing the local bus, Coaster or Sprinter.

Bingo will be played after the meeting starting at 12:30 p.m. Cards are $1 each. Prizes are awarded to the winners.

There are still a few openings available for the trip to New Mexico, which takes place from September 13 through 19. Anyone interested can call the Senior Center for details.

Seniors are welcome to visit the center and take part in classes, exercise, line dance lessons, ballroom dance lessons, German language lessons, cribbage, pinochle, bridge, mah jong, Wii bowling, pool tournaments, ukulele club and the knit wits.

For more information on any of these activities or classes, call (760) 728 4498.
