3rd MAW based at Camp Pendleton

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. - (June 8, 2022) At approximately

1225 Pacific Standard Time an MV-22B Osprey belonging to 3rd Marine Aircraft

Wing (MAW) crashed near Glamis, CA. Five Marines were onboard the aircraft,

and we are awaiting confirmation on the status of all members of the crew.

We ask for the public's patience as we work diligently with first responders

and the unit to identify what occurred this afternoon.

The MV-22B Osprey was based at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton with

Marine Aircraft Group 39.

Contrary to initial social media reports, there was no nuclear material on

board the aircraft.
