Retired teachers hear Fallbrook High School choruses

FALLBROOK – At a recent brunch meeting, California Retired Teachers, Fallbrook Division 81 were treated to a program of music and choreography by Fallbrook High School Show Choir and WAVE. WAVE originally began as Madrigals founded in 1963 by Bud Roberds. The Show Choir performed their choreographed songs using the presentation as a “dress rehearsal” for an upcoming state competition.

Mr. Roberds, fondly called “Mr. Music” by his former students, stated that he was especially proud when in the fall of 1971, the Madrigals became a part of the scheduled curriculum and received credit for the class at Fallbrook High School.

Any persons interested in protecting teacher pensions, as well as working for students’ scholarships and teacher grants, can join the California Retired Teachers Association. Division 81’s brunch meeting and program starts at 8:45 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at “Jack’s Place,” Fallbrook Golf Club. Call to reserve and reminisce with Roberds at (760) 728-1092.
