MS Walk raises funds for research and services

The 2007 San Diego County Credit Union MS Walk will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Legoland California in Carlsbad.

The MS Walk is known for drawing a large number of teams representing businesses, neighborhoods, clubs, community groups, churches and family members and friends of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). They raise funds for MS research and services for people with MS. Many teams come up with a team name and outfit their members with costumes, including t-shirts, hats or balloons. The 2006 MS Walk featured more than 750 teams ranging from as few as four people to more than 200 people each.

This year’s MS Walk participants can earn prizes, including t-shirts, movie tickets to UltraStar Cinemas or gift cards valid at Westfield shopping centers, based on the amount of donations they collect. Free snacks and beverages will be provided to walkers and the afternoon will include live music and a festive finish line celebration.

During the 2007 MS Walk at Legoland, the theme park will be closed to the general public and no rides will be operating, but walkers can still enjoy the park’s displays, including famous landmarks in miniature built entirely from Lego bricks. At the walk’s conclusion, all walkers will be invited to enjoy the theme park at a discounted admission price.

Online registration for the 2007 MS Walk is available at http://www.mswalk.com.
