Bronze pour will be open to public

FALLBROOK — The Foundry, located on the Art Campus at Fallbrook, will be hosting a Bronze Pour Event on Saturday, June 30. A small fee ($2) will be charged at the gate and guests will be asked to fill out a raffle ticket to win a small bronze casting by artist Celou Bonnet.

Other local artists will be casting their artwork at this one-day event, which will begin in the morning at 10 a.m. The first crucible of bronze will be ready to be poured around noon. The casting process will continue throughout the day and it is anticipated that three crucibles of bronze, in total, will be poured. An announcer will be describing the process as the artwork is being cast.

The Foundry is a full-service sculptural facility offering design and fabrication services, mold-making services, classes and workshops, artist’s studio space and flexible workspace for visiting artists.

During the event, The Lace Apron, whose business is located at 118 North Main Avenue, will be selling their signature Cilantrocado wraps. The Drum Circle will be on hand and the public is encouraged to participate.

The Foundry’s gallery will be open between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Their promotional video will be available for viewing and Bonnet’s sculpture, depicting two Labrador retriever puppies, will be on display. The drawing for the sculpture will be held at 3 p.m. or after the second crucible of bronze is poured. The winner need not be present.

The Foundry is located at 300 East Alvarado Street, two blocks East of Main Avenue. For more information call (760) 723-1124 or visit http://www.ArtCampusAtFallbrook.com and click on “The Foundry.”
