College scholarships offered by National Charity League

Last updated 2/19/2009 at Noon

The Fallbrook San Luis Rey Chapter of the National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) is offering its annual college scholarships to senior girls (who are not members of NCL) who are graduating from the Fallbrook Union High School District.

National Charity League is a nonprofit organization in which mother-daughter volunteers provide services, as well as fundraising, for the community. The funds raised are donated directly to local philanthropies and to scholarship recipients each year.

Senior girls who are eligible must be college-bound to an accredited four-year university, two-year community college or vocational school.

The NCL Ann Daniel Memorial Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria: community service, school and work activities, financial need, letter of recommendation, personal essay, grade point average (minimum 2.0) and interview with scholarship committee.

Application forms are available at http://www.fallbrookhs.org (click on Career Center) or the FHS Career Center. For further questions, contact Kelly A. Bednarski, scholarship chairman, at (760) 728-7255.

Completed applications are due in the FHS Career Center by April 20. Recipients will be announced at the FHS Awards Ceremony in June.
