Fallbrook High School field hockey players Kyle Little and Lauren Hughey took part in the Disney Showcase held February 5-7 in Orlando.
In addition to giving Little and Hughey additional field hockey competition against opposition from throughout the nation, the Disney Showcase is also witnessed by many college coaches and provides exposure for the players.
Little and Hughey were invited to join a team guided by Vista High School coach Gail Petty.
The two practiced at Vista High School for approximately one month of Saturday mornings while also playing in North County Indoor League competition.
The team consisted of players representing five different high schools.
The team finished second in its pool, behind the 2008 tournament winner. “They did well,” said Fallbrook High School field hockey coach Kathy Waite.
Little, a midfielder, is a junior at Fallbrook High School. Hughey, who plays forward, is a sophomore.
Hughey scored one goal during the Disney Showcase.
