Tattoo artist opens new shop

FALLBROOK — Local tattoo artist Brad Garner closed his former shop and has opened Good News Tattoo – a new shop in, he says, a better location and with a more personable atmosphere – at the corner of Main Avenue and Elder Street in the second story of the historic Elder House.

“It’s a perfect location because it is near Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, near Temecula and a short drive from Oceanside,” said Garner. “It has a beautiful creek running behind it.”

Good News Tattoo has an area for guests to play darts, cards and lounge while waiting for family and friends.

“We have the cleanest shop in Fallbrook,” said Garner. “We want our guests to be comfortable and will cater to them with music, put on a movie or light candles. We want people to have a fun, relaxing experience while getting tattooed.”

Garner said his artists recently tattooed three generations of ladies together in one session: an 18-year-old and her mother and grandmother.

“It was the first tattoo for all three ladies and they are already considering coming back for more,” said Garner.

Garner has won awards for his tattoo work. Co-owner Geri Buchhelz handles the business functions of the shop and is taking her college degree in art to the next level by learning tattooing.

A custom tattoo shop with artists who enjoy working one-on-one with clients, it is common for customers to become friends because of the congenial atmosphere.

A grand opening celebration is in the works that is planned to include live music, artists and vendors. Garner said he intends to arrange for food and beverages to be available from local businesses.

“We also plan to have contests, games and giveaways,” he said.

Good News Tattoo is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (earlier or later appointments available). Military discounts are proudly offered and gift certificates are available.
