Big Read activities planned for March

The Fallbrook Branch of the San Diego County Library has programs planned to go with the county-wide Big Read novel, John Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath.”

The following contests/activities at the Fallbrook library may be entered or participated in through March 13, unless a specified date is listed.

Children

Comic Book Contest - Write or illustrate one’s own life story.

Board Games - What “gamers” played back in the day, Saturdays at noon.

Teen

Graphic Novel Contest - Create a graphic novel of a personal journey of your own or someone else’s. Entries will be judged and prizes will be awarded.

Grapes of Math Contest - How much did a gallon of gas cost during the depression?

Adult

Charitable Giving - Make and donate knitted or crocheted 9x9 squares

Lean Meals on a Lean Budget - Submit a favorite low cost healthy recipe for a chance to win a prize. Recipes will be complied to be displayed at the library.

Digital Story Station - Digital Storytelling Station gives residents an opportunity to spotlight something they deeply care about and will be available for others to see and hear. At the Fallbrook School of the Arts, each Tuesday in February and March, 3:00 - 7 p.m. and every Sunday in Feb and March, noon - 4 p.m.
