Quilt Guild to feature paper piecing

FALLBROOK – Carol Doak, author, award winning quilt maker, and teacher will be the featured speaker at the Fallbrook Quilt Guild meeting scheduled for March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center. The business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a social and refreshment time. The program starts at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome for a $3 donation.

An impressive range of Ms. Doak’s beautiful blue-ribbon quilts have been featured in several books and magazines.

Doak will conduct a “Perfect Points” workshop on Saturday, March 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fallbrook Public Utility District’s board room. Ms. Doak will share tips and tricks for producing perfect points using paper piecing. This workshop teaches how to choose fabrics, how to assembly-line paper piece, join blocks accurately, add the border and remove the paper. The Fallbrook Quilt Guild meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Community Center.
