Five area bull riders to compete at Pala event

PALA – Five area bull riders will compete with dozens of others from throughout the United States as well as Australia and Mexico at the upcoming Pala Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Touring Pro Division competition at the Pala Rodeo Grounds.

The bull riders will compete for championship points and more than $25,000 in prize money starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23.

Area competitors will include Ryan Brown, Temecula; Ryan Hochstrat, Mike Hough and Bobby Waller, all of Quail Valley; and Mike Chaffin of Norco. All said they are looking forward to top rides for the home crowd.

Seventy competitors have registered for the event and 35 will ride each day. To date, 12 of those riders have entered both days of competition.

Tickets for the bull riding competition range from $23 to $58 and are available for no service charge at the Pala Box Office in the casino, or by calling (877) WIN-PALA (946-7252).
