Smoke from Pendleton fire drifts over area

FALLBROOK - North County Fire Protection District has stated that smoke from a fire on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton began drifting over neighboring communities at approximately 1:15 this afternoon.

The fire, officials said the blaze is "well inside the interior of the military base."

At this time, they said there is no threat to area residents.
